~Namaste~

The light within me honors the light within you!

Abbie Kiel

- Owner/ Teacher

Abbie grew up as a dancer although the overly-critical dance world made her seek out alternatives. She took her first  yoga class at a local gym and instantly felt connected. While living in  Los Angeles in 2007 she went through a 200-hour Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training with Shiva Rea. While there she also studied with and drew influence from Brian Kest (Power Yoga), Steve Ross and Vinnie Marino. She started with humble beginnings  teaching donation based yoga classes on the beach to now fulfilling a dream of owning her own studio’s. She also completed another teaching certification with Yoga Faith in 2016 (YogaFaith.org) which quite simply is Christian based yoga. In addition to the RBY Tribe she also has been the primary yoga instructor at Skywood Recovery for over 4 years and now Guiding Light women’s recovery home.   She is a wife, mother of four, owner of dogs, chickens and continues to teach, learn and grow all under grace of the Creator. Always seeking to find how to not only practice her faith, recovery and yoga but to live it.

Hanna Gallegos- Teacher

Hi I'm Hanna!

I am a Yoga Teacher, Personal Trainer and dog mom. Yoga has been a consistent practice in my life for almost 15 years and I've been teaching for close to 7 years. I received my 300 Hour certification through Good Karma Yoga in Novi, MI. I'm a self proclaimed anatomy nerd and have a background in Corrective Exercise, helping with posture and healthy alignment in the body. I love to teach strong energizing classes as well as calm grounding flows while keeping a conscious connection to our breath. In my off time you'll find me lifting weights, reading or playing tennis. I'm grateful and always happy to be a part of River Bend Yoga, it is a beautiful and welcoming community.

I'll see you on the mat, Namaste!

Lydia Leep

- Teacher

Namaste everyone, I'm Lydia, I have been practicing yoga since early 2022. Riverbend Yoga was my first experience and I just loved it and started practicing at a few other studios to learn more styles. April 2023 I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training for Vinyasa and Hatha with Yoga Alliance in Koh Phangan, Thailand - through La Casa Shambala. I have taught hot Vinyasa with Pure Hot Yoga GR for over a year and I practice many types of yoga in my free time to help expand my knowledge. Teaching yoga to new students is such a delight, experiencing the energy in the room during a class along with finding a moment in your day to breathe and really come into yourself.

Tera Secord

- Teacher

Tera has been a part of the world of fitness since she was 7. At that time her mom was an Elaine Powers instructor and eventually owned her own gym. Being around fitness opened up a strong passion for helping others and led Tera to become a certified personal trainer, aerobics instructor and eventually a Health and Physical Education teacher. She also went on to increase her knowledge with a Masters in Exercise Science. With the stress of being a wife, busy mom of two and a teacher, she knew she needed more than aerobics and weight lifting to manage her life, which led to trying yoga in 2007. Ever since then she has been hooked. She became certified in 2013 through Yoga Fit and will continue pursuing higher levels of training.

Kaitlyn Klug- Teacher

Yoga has been a part of Kaitlyn’s life since she found a Yoga DVD in high school and has
helped her find a sense of strength, inner peace and well being. Her journey has taken her from
going to hot yoga classes for many years all the way across the world to India, the birthplace of
yoga. She was mainly looking for guidance on proper alignment and a deeper understanding of
this practice that felt so natural and healing to her. Through faith and friendship, Kaitlyn earned
her 200hr Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification with Upaya on the beaches of Goa, India.
As a lifetime student herself, her classes offer a gentle flow while focusing on the basics of yoga postures and proper
alignment of the body. She also likes to introduce beginner breathing & meditation techniques to cultivate
awareness and stillness of the mind.

Ashton Mastenbook - Teacher

Ashton's yoga journey started in 2004. After that first class she felt balanced, more focused and the meditation was just what she had been searching for. She was curious to see what else she could learn from yoga.  After several years of personal practice Ashton went to Sangha yoga in Kalamazoo, MI and studied with Karina Ayn Mirsky MA, ERYT and became certified to teach in the para yoga style in April 2015.  She has also studied belly dance and world dance at UNLV and will keep continuing her education with college, workshops, books, so that she may help students discover their fullest potential.  As a teacher she will create a safe and open environment in which students can increase their flexibility, strength, concentration, and discover their inner strength while keeping the yoga practice lighthearted and accessible for everybody.  Ashton lives in Plainwell with her fiancé and their two year old son.

Kirsten Jones- Teacher

Kirsten has been passionately practicing yoga for about 15 years. In 2020, she completed her initial 200-hour certification, then furthered her training by completing a Prenatal/Gentle yoga certification in 2021. With a deep belief in yoga as a powerful tool for well-being, you'll find Kirsten's classes focus on alignment, muscle conditioning, length and strength, breathwork, and meditation.

Kirsten is thrilled to join the Middleville Riverbend Yoga family and is eager to share her love for yoga and its benefits with the community.
